The Audi S4 is a nimble, well behaved sedan powered by a DOHC V8 with two-stage variable intake manifold. The engine has a bore of 3.33 in. with a 3.65 in stroke and a compression ratio is 11.0 : 1.
This 4.2 (4.163) liter engine delivers 340 Hp @7,000 rpm and torque of 301 ft-lbs @ 3,500 rpm giving an electrically limited 155 mph top speed. The manual transmission version sprints to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds while the Tiptronic version takes 5.6 seconds. The "Torsen® C" delvers a 40/60 torque split front/rear which has inproved the feel of the car in corners.
